One of the most annoying things about the Aikiweb forums is that they are fixed width. On this system, which uses 1024*768, it really is a waste of screen real estate to have the forums so narrow.

Of all the forums I have ever visited this is the only one that has this problem. I know it can be quite difficult to get certain types of variable-width tables to display properly across multiple browsers (especially if you also want it to work in Netscape 4.xx), but it is possible. Why can't it be done here?

TIA

Hi Sven,

I'll think about it. Thanks for the feedback.

Personally, I like the narrow width of the AikiWeb forums. I find narrow columns easier to read on a computer monitor than wide columns.

Out of curiosity, Sven, what are the other things that annoy you about the AikiWeb forums? :)

My wording did kind of suggest that such other things exist. In truth, I can't really think of any. :p

I wish I had a monitor big enough for that. At my parents home, and at University, I run at 1152*864 (17" displays). Here, at my own home, I have a laptop with a 14.1" TFT screen with a fixed resolution of 1024*768.

I find the width to be fine (on a 22" monitor @ 1280*1024).

I have found, though that the vBulletin software display is a little clunky in the forums for Mac OS. It's mostly the software, as other forums running the same package do the same, but it seems a little moreso here for some reason.
