My recent trip to Japan turned into something of a modern musha shugyo. The first part was spent at a Shinto Muso Ryu gasshuku. The most memorable part though was probably the day spent with Kiyama Sensei doing iai. The day was a model of a great, classical training session. Lots of training without a lot of talking. I need to take a page from Kiyama Sensei and run my classes with a lot less talk and a lot more training. How about you?
