Not sure where this thread would fit best, but here goes...

I was wondering how you (et al) feel is the best way to learn aikido? I have heard it said that by doing the techniques (the physical) until they are a part of you the deeper meaning of aikido will emerge. I have also heard that by delving deep into the philosophical (spiritual?) side of aikido you can do techniques better. (Kinda disjointed sentence, sorry, couldn't put more eloquently)

I guess a better question would be: Do you feel you can train the mind and the body will follow or train the body and the mind will follow?

This question has been bugging me for awhile and its a little (very?) abstract so I'm not even sure I'm asking the right question.:freaky:

Confused,
Mike :D

There is no other way of training the mind except by training the body.

I'm agree with shihonage.

First, educates your body, learn the basics, and the spiritual side will come itself to you.
