An opportunity has presented itself which would allow me to live, work and train it Japan for an extended period of time. The move itself will not be for 5-6 months, so it gives me time for a little preparation. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books on Japanese etiquette (or language, for that matter)?

Thanks

Chris :)

Lot's of different language books available, also lessons on line.

Etiquette? Hmmm. Same rules for travelling anywhere. Say please and thank-you, be nice to little old ladies and don't force your opinion on everyone you meet.

Your Canadian - you were born polite - no worries. The only great differences between Canada and Japan in common everyday life is that in Canada we pour our own beer, here everyone makes sure their friends glass is never empty.

So where will you go and what will you do?
