I just thought of this when I was hauling my Gi out for another day of practice.

Philosophically speaking, should a gi be washed before or after it evolves its own intelligence?
Or at least starts walking by itself? :D

That depends on whether its aikido is better than yours or not.

what happens if your gi wants to practice a different martial art then you, do you compromise with it?

You BLEND with it. Especially if it's a cotton blend.

You're all wimps!
We care for our gi's the old fashioned way - by beating them on the rocks by the river - while we're still wearing them!
And we use skunk spray for fabric softener.

I didn't know we had a choice... Mine tends to come alive after every pratice... I've given up washin and started buying new ones for every pratice. Houston is now being ran by angry white pajamas.

a few months ago i made a deal with my gi, it had evolved its own intelligence and, due to me being away on business, had 2 months with nothing to do but read all the books in my house. due to my sisters anatomy and physiology degree books, and my aikido books (teamed with the knowledge gleemed from my dad's karate books) this gi had the knowledge to inflict some serious damage to me

SO

i chalenged it to a game of chess, the idea being that, everytime i felt it needs to be washed we play chess, if i win it gives its-self up, and if it wins, it obi belt whips me for 3 solid hours

Steve Mullen
03-27-2006, 04:10 PM

my grandad actually taught me too, on a cool game where the pieces actually fight each other when you move to take.

Karen,

You could try soft lights and red wine. Tequila works too, but sometimes results in violence.

Oh, gracious no! A lady of your obvious refinement and grace could NEVER be violent. After an appropriate amount of tequila however, others could be inclined to be violent simply because they would be unable to understand your wit, your skills as a dancer, or the volume of your melodious singing voice.

Seriously tough, the gis WILL take over the world. Whoever thought of the robots or the corcroches (or however it's spelled correctly), was wrong. Although its the hakamas I'm more worried about.

Yeah lets face it: we cannot trust on any part of our aikido uniforms. In fact, the actual reason for us studying aikido is to defeat them evileyes

My Karate obis keep fighting my Aikido obis :uch: What can I do???

Mmmm...My gi seems love to be getting dirty on. And it just love to be smash/brush by. Then, getting a nice overnight bath soap in its most relunctunt-but-want-it-way. Kinda made me think my Gi is a SM lover?:confused:Gee...

For I have no great pleasure in it, it will try to get back at me for ignoring it at the knee from time to time till it had won my attention, just by tearing itself up...So, I just forgave it and forget it with pleasure. Later, total ignorance by getting a newer/better/stronger/comfortable/sexy it.

Next time, gonna need to use a shoto ironing and ikkajyo to dress it into my backpack.
