Dale Matthews Sensei Godan passed away in Simpsonville KY. Dale was the founder and dojo-cho of one of the oldest Aikido Dojos in Kentucky. He started Aikido in 1975 with Mitsugi Saotome.

Dojo News: Aikikai Malta IAF Membership

We are honoured and grateful that the International Aikido Federation (IAF) and it's members have accepted us as an Associate Member during the recent general assembly.
This shows clearly that in Aikido everyone is equal, no matter the country size.
This membership shall give new opportunities to the Aikido community in Malta at par with the global Aikido family.

Sensei Tom Collings is swimming 9 miles to mark his 70th Birthday. He is swimming to raise awareness and funds for Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Sensei Collings is a wellness advocate and dog lover. He hopes his milestone birthday swim will promote pet adoptions and wellness.

Wendy Whited Passes Away

I have just received news that Wendy Whited (7th dan, Inaka Dojo, Beecher IL) passed away on September 29, 2021 from cancer.
She started aikido at Northen Illinois University in 1973. She visited Japan first in 1978 and returned in 1987 to be part of the Japanese Exchange of Teachers program for two years. She started Inaka Dojo in 1992. She was an educator, teaching junior high school from 1980 then later becoming school principal from 1999 until she retired in 2012.
My condolences go out to her friends, family, students, and loved ones.
