Shin Budo Kai was established by Shizuo Imaizumi shihan in 1988 after he left the Ki No Kenkyu Kai.

Currently, Shizuo Imaizumi shihan, 7th dan, heads the organization.

Dojos in the United States and one in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
