Sankyo

From AikiWiki - AikiWeb Aikido Information

[edit] Sankyo

Sankyo/Sankajo (also known as "kote hineri"), is a wrist turning technique used to control an attacker characterized by pronation or forward twisting about the axis of the forearm. It is enacted by pronating uke's wrist and forearm, turning the palm of the hand away from uke, while keeping their elbow up.

To see this on yourself, place your right hand in front of your face, and look at the back of your hand, now bring your elbow up, as if exposing your underarm. Now grab your right hand with your left, so they are palm to palm, then twist the right hand so the thumb is moving away from the face.
