Saito Morihiro Shihan, 9th dan, passed away in 2002. He had trained with the Founder for 23 years and was one of his closest students. He was the caretaker of the Aiki Shrine and the Founder's dojo in Iwama, Japan. Being an excellent instructor, he inspired many aikidoists around the world. He preserved and interpreted the riai (combined weapons and empty-hand forms) as taught by O'Sensei.
Father of Hitohiro Saito Sensei.
