Born April 11, 1907. Synthesized Yoseikan budo from his training in judo (in which he held an 8th dan), kendo (5th dan), karate (5th dan). Trained with Jigoro Kano sensei, the founder of judo, at the Kodokan. Sent to Morihei Ueshiba to study Aikijujutsu in 1930. Served as uchideshi to the founder for one year.
