Koretoshi Maruyama was born in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, on October 5, 1936. A student of Morihei Ueshiba and personally receiving 6th dan. He had a prominent role in the expansion of the Ki Society eventually becoming its president. In 1991 he resigned from the Ki Society and sought seclusion in a temple, emerging 10 yrs later with Aikido Yuishinkai
