[edit] Correct punching form
There are many ways to deliver a punch.
[edit] "Basic" punch
Several factors are important for a simple, safe, and effective punch.
- The thumb should not be tucked into the palm.
- Fingers should be curled in tightly, touching just the very top of the palm, which is then bent in at the knuckles.
- Impact should be made with the first two knuckles after the thumb.
- The wrist and hand should be one straight column; if the joint is bent, it may be injured.
- By snapping the arm out, a sharper impact is created; by making the arm stable, a stronger "push back" will result.
