The late Fumio Toyoda shihan established his Tenshinkan dojo in Chicago in 1974 under the direction of Koichi Tohei sensei. In 1984, Toyoda shihan founded the AAA independent of Tohei sensei.

Toyoda sensei passed away on July 4th, 2001.

Its main instructors include and have included:

• the late Fumio Toyoda shihan, 6th dan
• Andrew Sato, shihan-dai, 6th dan, until January 2005
