Description: (Taken from Kingfisher website)
The Aiki Bokken wooden long sword combines the necessary speed and strength required in paired aikido weapons work. These bokken are shaped for precision and maneuverability. The large aikiken is 42" long ovall, fairly stout in profile and has a 11 1/2" tsuka. The medium aikiken is 40" long overall with medium proportions and 11" tsuka. These weapons are shaped to the same specifications as the more expensive hand cut aiki bokken but is offered in wood grade levels 3 - 5 and have a more economical sanded finish.

Pros: amazing craftmanship, excellent weight.
Cons: quality comes at a premium price

The craftmanship that went into the bokken is amazing. The variation in colour in the bokken that I received adds to its character. Althought not as heavy/dense as shiro kashi it still has a very nice feel and weight to it. Functionality wise, its been used a few times and is holding up very well to contact practice.

would recommend getting one to any bokken enthusiasts just to admire the quality.
Would make an excellent gift (especially the hand cut versions) to a senior practitioner.
