Description: Okenjo handmade Aiki Weapons are based in the Gaelic hinterland in Tipperary, Ireland. I recently ordered a handmade Jo from Brian O Donohoe [brian@okenjo.ie] and I was really surprised at the quality and the workmanship of the Jo that I recieved, as Brian only works with handheld tools. Brian also was able to put the names of my two sons on either end of the Jo in Japanese characters, which I feel has really personalised it for me.
If you want a real solid, but flexible, Jo/bokken/tanto etc I would advise anyone to take time out to look at there website okenjo.ie.

Pros:
Cons:

I recently purchased a handmade jo from Brian (proprietor at www.okenjo.ie, based in Tipperary, Ireland) and was delighted with the quality of finish and feel. Taking his advice on measurements suitable for my size has provided me with a jo that just feels right, not too flimsy and not like holding a tree trunk! It was a lovely touch to have my name in katakana burned into it and very reasonable at €50. Highly recommended gear!!
