Description: Hikitsuchi Michio Sensei has turned to video to communicate to as many people as possible the essential core of Aikido as he learned it directly from Ueshiba Osensei. More than half of the tape is devoted to demonstration of numerous Aikido techniques.

The program is also autobiographical - a personal recollection of the history of Aikido in the remote Kumano region of Japan where Aikido was first practiced. You will accompany Hikitsuchi Sensei and senior instructors from the Shingu dojo as they visit Osensei's grave to pray. You will follow them as they continue Osensei's lifelong practice of pilgrimage to the ancient mountain shrines of Kumano. The overall effect is to bring you closer to the traditional heart of Aikido.
