Rating this video was difficult for me for several reasons. First of all, I have seen very few instructional Aikido videos so I have little to compare with. Second I am a student of Nishio style Aikido myself and therefore probably concider the video more interesting than most other aikido-practitioners, simply because it features Nishio shihan himself.

The video is a very compressed version of Nishio Shihan's key principles. I would probably not engourage someone with no prior experience to use it as an instructional video for learning basic principles. However Nishio shihan has some very important messages about the connection between practicing sword-excercises (his very own system: Aikido to-ho) and doing aikido. His aikido reflects his vast experience with both the jo and the bokken, which leads him to make a sincere effort to show how the bokken, the jo and the sword is related to the tai-jutsu of Aikido. This makes the video very interesting to anyone who practices Nishio-style Aikido, and - so I would think - everybody who practices Aikido on a level beyond beginner, with an interest in how to use the japanese sword.
