I enjoyed this book for it's colorful and entertaining anecdotes and common sense approach. Crum uses a "self-help" style to illustrate his view of how to apply aiki principles to everyday situations from personal to business environments. It did get a little repetitive at times and I would have liked to have seen it go into more depth and touch on the spiritual aspects of aikido more. However, for anyone trying to use their aikido in all aspects of life, Crum's book gives some good pointers and a couple of good laughs. I found it a worthwhile read.

As my life changes and grows into the essence of my new being this author's words spoke well into my inner self. His description of becoming centered is what the core of this new being is becoming for me.

Conflict has never been expressed so well and so clearly. Everyday brings conflict in which can battle or acccept the energies of the conflict and thereby change the perceptions held for that day.

This is a book worthy of reading for the new and the old. Walking in his shoes permitted me to grow with his knowledge. For this I am thankful. His book is well written and easily understood.

I recommend reading it and sit back and enjoy the exercises and the knowledge.

Pros: Presents new ideas and perspectives to the status quo.
Cons:

Thomas Crum presents us with new ideas and perspectives as altenatives to the status quo. The idea of connectivity can be just as challenging as the demands of a religion. Some of these ideas can easily speak to most of us, if not all. The perspective on rigid belief systems and the alternative to perfectionism are among them. The exercises he\'s chosen to share with us, I view as bonuses for us to explore and fascinate ourselves. I particularly found his clarification on the geometric symbols representing conflict responses helpful.
