When I was looking for mats, I determined that I needed something that was durable, portable and affordable. I current have approximately 960 sqft of the Series 400 mats. 22 of these mats, the 4x8, are at the location we use to train and I have another 10 at home. These mats are great to setup in the garage and fit nicely in the back of my Caravan, without having to take the second row seats out. We do several public demo\'s a year and having the ability to transport the mats are a plus.
Mancino also makes a throw/ukemi mat that I use for teaching break falls. I started using these mats in 2001 and have not regretted the purchase. Several of my students have also purchased some of these mats and when we combine them all together, we have an excellent training area.
If you don\'t have a permanent location and need something that is portable and durable, you might consider taking a look at the Series 400 mats from Mancino Manufacturing. These mats fold up and stack quite nicely.
