Patrick Cassidy Sensei (5th dan, Aikido of Fresno) will be at Aikido of San Luis Obispo on Jan 6th, 2001 from 10am - 4pm.

George Simcox Sensei Passes Away

George Simcox sensei (6th dan, Virginia Ki Society) passed away on Friday, 10. November, 2000. He was one of the treasures of the Aikido-L mailing list. I've learned a lot from knowing him over the past several years, and I'll miss him greatly. My condolensces to his family, friends, students, and loved ones. Thank you, George sensei. News 11/13: The viewing will be at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA on Friday, 11/17 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be at Franconia United Methodist Church, 6037 Franconia Road, Alexandria at 2pm on Saturday then 18th. There will be a get together at the dojo at 4pm following the funeral service. Burial service will be at Arlington Cemetery on Monday the 27th (exact time to follow).

Ed Baker Sensei Passes Away

Ed Baker sensei (6th dan) of Florida has passed away on November 14th, 2000 at the age of 66. He was the first American teacher to study with Mitsugi Saotome sensei. My condolensces goes out to his family, friends, students, and loved ones.

I have a new article entitled "Why I Train" by Eve Peters-Campbell. Eve writes about her observations on why she trains. I think we've all felt it in one way or another...
