TV/Movies: IndieGogo Campain: Shihan Jacques Payet Film Project
Posted 7/31/2015 12:52am [from Kenji Lee]

Greetings from Kyoto, Japan. For those who haven't been here it's a must-visit spot in Asia. Culture, food, outdoors, amazing seasonal changes, and lots of cool people. So it was only fitting that it was here I met Jacques Payet, 7th degree Yoshinkan Aikido master. Jacques Payet is from a tiny island in the Indian Ocean who did what everyone thought was impossible: he left his home, travelled to a far-off land where he didnít speak the language, didn't know the culture, and became an apprentice of Shioda Gozo, one of the most prominent figures in the world of Aikido. Thirty years later, Jacques Payet has become a highly respected figure in the international Aikido community. He currently runs his own dojo in Kyoto, Japan, where young people travel from around the world to train with him on year-long intensive Aikido programs. He is also regularly invited to visit dojo's around the world. His story is unique, amazing, and empowering, and we want to share it with the world. My name is Kenji Lee and I'm the filmmaker making JP - A film about the extraordinary life of an aikido master. We are currently funding our film on Indiegogo and in just our first week we've been blown away by the response!!! It seems there are a lot of people out there who want to see this film come to life. Please take some time to check out this campaign and support a fellow aikidoka http://igg.me/at/jp-film
