Seminar: Kiichi Hine Sensei in the Netherlands, 5/27-5/28
Posted 1/12/2006 5:22pm [from Martijn van der Nat]
Aikido dojo Shi Zen Ryu is proud to announce that on the 27th and 28th of May 2006, in honour of her 15th anniversary, she is organising an Aikido friendship seminar with Kiichi Hine sensei. Hine sensei, born in Japan, started practicing Aikido in the Aikido Dojo of Hikitsuchi shihan (10th dan) in Shingu about 40 years ago, at the age of twelve. On the age of 18 he received 3rd dan from O Sensei. In his Aikido-teachings Kiichi Hine sensei emphasizes both the technical as well as the spiritual aspects of Aikido: 'In Aikido there is no competition, in order to learn to discard battle and conflict. We must learn to stop thinking in terms of strong or weak, big or small, fast or slow, high or low grade. It is more important for an Aikidoka to bring joy to himself and his family, his friends and others.'
This seminar will be open to aikidoka from all backgrounds to train, celebrate and practice aikido in a joyful manner.
