Event: Etsunengeiko - New Year's Eve Training in Chicago
Posted 12/21/2004 11:21am [from Joanna Hunter]

The Japanese Martial Arts Society, in Chicago, Illinois, will conduct its annual New Year's Eve training and party this December 31st - Jan. 1st. Students from the 3 practice groups under the Society's umbrella (Aikido, Mugairyu iaihyodo, and Shinbukan Kuroda Ryugi) will join together starting at 7pm to clean the dojo they share. Zazen (meditation) will follow, and then each group will practice their arts separately until just before midnight. They will then join together again for a short ceremony to mark the new year, led by priests from Chozen-ji Illinois Betsuin Zen temple. A potluck party follows. Anyone is welcome to join this event. There is no charge...just bring something for the potluck. If you would like an event flyer or directions, please email to: info@shinjinkai.org
