Japanese Martial Arts Society Established in Chicago
Posted 8/30/2003 1:53pm [from Joanna Hunter]
Aikido Shinjinkai, headquartered in Chicago, announces an organizational expansion. A larger umbrella association, The Japanese Martial Arts Society (Nihon Bugei Shinjinkai) has been established to bring together students of the various arts practiced by Shinjinkai members. The Society now has training divisions devoted to Aikido, to Mugairyu Iaihyodo (iaijutsu), and to the koryu lineages of the Shinbukan Kuroda Ryugi. Shinjinkai also shares its facility with Chozen-ji Illinois Betsuin, a Zen temple, and with the related Zen Training Academy International; Zen and fine arts (tea ceremony, flower arrangement) are conducted by these organizations. Zen, Budo, and fine arts are thus offered in one facility through the cooperation of various teachers. For more information, please see our new website, www.shinjinkai.org.
