Seminar: 2019 Fall Aikido Seminar at Oberlin Aikikai with Chuck Weber Shihan
Posted 9/24/2019 11:58am [from Andrzej Siwkiewicz]

Oberlin Aikikai is pleased to announce the annual Fall Aikido Seminar with Chuck Weber Sensei. Weber Sensei started Aikido in 1975 in Denver, Colorado with Seiji Tanaka Sensei of Waseda University and Tomiki Aikido. After Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei moved to Boulder Weber Sensei was introduced to Mitsugi Saotome Sensei. Upon request from Saotome Sensei in 1988 he opened a dojo with Charles Page in Baltimore. In addition to receiving the rank of Nanadan, Chuck Weber Sensei has been given the Ueshiba Juku designation by Saotome Shihan. Ueshiba Juku translates as “Academy of the Founder.” It recognizes that the recipient has shown exceptional leadership in transmitting the teachings of O-Sensei and is a true inheritor of the teachings of O-Sensei through Saotome Shihan. This special Gasshuku will be held at the Hales Gym, Oberlin College, 180 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, Ohio 44074-1016: Friday, October 11th, evening class at 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday, October 12th, morning class at 10 - 12 p.m., and afternoon class at 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, October 13th, morning class at 10 - 12 p.m. The full seminar cost is $110, or $35 per class. All affiliations are welcomed. Preregistration is recommended and housing available in hotels nearby. For more information visit: http://clevelandaikido.com/seminars/, or call 216-392 2274.
