Admin Job at Aikido in Fredericksburg

Program Assistant * Job Announcement: Aikido in Fredericksburg (“AIF”) is a non-profit educational corporation dedicated to the teaching and practice of the traditional Japanese martial art of Aikido. AIF is looking for a Program Assistant to replace our current enthusiastic staffer who will be leaving for university this summer. This is a part-time permanent contract position which will start in the second quarter of 2014 to provide time for overlap and training with current staff. Twenty hours per week is preferred but at least fifteen is required. The position also offers the possibility to be “uchideshi” (a live-in student) and gain the skills needed to become an Assistant Instructor. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. Assist Chief Instructor/COO and work collaboratively to improve dojo programs Maintain office and work spaces Maintain computer and hard copy files Support members including processing new and prospective students, tracking attendance, printing rank certificates, belts for child students, etc. Coordinate dojo events including Community Open House Series and assist with Seminar production Maintain dojo facilities, storage spaces, uniform inventory, and supplies Develop resources to support / enhance dojo operations Assist with event planning / facilitation Create flyers and assist with marketing Utilize and expand procedures manual Maintain / develop partnerships with local organizations, especially schools Other duties as assigned Requirements: Interest in Aikido and/or non-profit educational services Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office software Good writing, research, and communication skills Preferences: Positive Aikido training history Some college, degree preferred Graphic art and/or web skills To apply: Send resume and cover letter to staff@aikidoinn.com
