Amos Lee Parker Sensei Passes Away
Posted 8/20/2013 1:18pm [from Jun Akiyama]

I just received word from Steven Miranda that Amos Lee Parker (9th dan, Yoshinkan) has passed away. Born in 1936, he first came into contact with aikido in 1958 while in the US Navy. He started training in Japan in 1962 then spent the next 35 years training and teaching in Japan. He received his 9th dan ranking in 2010 by the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation, making him the highest ranking non-Japanese Yoshinkan aikido instructor n the world. My condolences go out to his family, friends, students, and loved ones.
