This article called "Family: Autistic son asked to drop group martial arts class, move to private sessions" describes the experience of 13-year-old Frank Greason who has mild autism and ADHD who was asked to move from the regular group kids program at Sunset Cliffs Aikido to private lessons as his disabilities are taking away too much attention from the teacher during group classes.
From the article: "I have like nine other kids that also require just as much attention, and you're just focusing on one," said Bernice Tom of Sunset Cliffs Aikido. "He is capable of learning, he's just slower. But he's capable of learning one on one." She recommended the private lessons that would make Frank's monthly bill jump from $65 to $1,000.
