Here's an article entitled "Modest Master in Bantam" which highlights Laura Pavlick in Bantam, CT, who recently received her 6th dan under Yoshimitsu Yamada sensei.
From the article: “It’s better to do something that makes you a stronger human being [and works] toward peaceful resolution, rather than [focusing on the use of] physical strength to just destroy another person,” said Mrs. Pavlick. “The thing about aikido, when you watch a class or you go to a seminar and you participate, everyone is smiling. We’re allowed to talk to each other. It is not militaristic in its approach.”
