May- 12- 04. A very special day trip to Iwama to meet up with the great Isoyama Sensei who expressed an extended hospitality in offering his time, his car and vast knowledge of Iwama history. He generously drove Takeda Satoshi sensei, Bruce Scott and myself to several significant points of interest related to the daily footsteps of O Sensei. Isoyama Sensei is truely one of the great masters and I am honoured and I feel very fortunate and privaliged to have met this man. Thanks to Isoyama Sensei for the opportunity to visit Iwama and be touched by the spirit of the Aiki- Shrine and Iwama dojo. Thank you to Takeda Satoshi sensei for his kind act of friendship for arranging through the Doshu, this wonderfully inspiring day trip to visit Iwama, this important referance point in our Aikido history.
May 2005 will bring another visit to Japan and surely more inspirational opportunity.
