I *told* him it was a bad idea (okay, no I didn't, but I *should* have).
The director of the kids program got it into his head that having the instructors and senior assistants wear kimonos during promotions would lend a level of formality to the proceedings. It really did look great when we all lined up at the begining.
Two falls in, it looked like we were training in our bath robes.
He doesn't do this anymore.
