It is terribly unfortunate that some individuals, with guidance from the very upper levels of their organizations, took the occasion of the passing of Sugano Sensei as an opportunity to reinforce counterproductive sectarian narratives that hijack the sincere feeling many students had toward Sugano Sensei to serve the merely financial, institutional, and personal concerns of Yamada Sensei.
