I like this article. It sums up nicely what Gozo Shioda had said before; aikido starts with kihon (basic) and ends with kihon.

Indeed! And how we define "kihon" will characterize our entire path. For me, my understanding of kihon keeps changing, and what I thought was basic turned out to be something that was hiding an even more fundamental truth.
