Meik Skoss in Newark, NJ April 7-9 2006

The NJIT Aikido Club is hosting a 3 day seminar with Meik Skoss, who will be teaching Nippon Toho, an exploration of fundamentals of Japanese swordsmanship. Skoss Sensei's system of Nippon Toho uses the Kendo Kata as a basic framework, while incorporating fundamentals of sword handling drawn from his study of aiki-ken and several systems of koyru sword arts.

Meik Skoss has trained in martial arts for well over 30 years, most of them spent in Japan. For a more detailed summary of his background, visit:

http://koryu.com/bio.html#mskoss

Training will run from 9-5 on Saturday and Sunday, with a two hour break for lunch at midday. Individuals registered for Saturday and Sunday are also welcome to join us on Friday evening from 7-9 for a basics class that is primarily intended for NJIT students.

Space is limited, so preference will be given to individuals registering for the entire weekend; the deadline for pre-registration is April 1.

For more information, send an e-mail to: aikido (at) njit.edu and we will send you a flyer and registration form by reply mail.

Re: Meik Skoss in Newark, NJ April 7-9 2006

The deadline for registration for Meik Skoss' Nippon Toho Seminar at NJIT in Newark is getting very close; we are taking registration via e-mail.

Additional relevant details:

There will be a number of koryu demonstrations at the end of the training session on Saturday, April 8, around 4 pm.

Confirmed demos include Toda-Ha Buko Ryu Naginatajutsu and Shinto Muso Ryu Jojutsu, discussions continue with a couple of other groups and details will be posted as they are finalized.

There will also be a group dinner on Saturday night at HOT 2, a wonderful family style Thai restaurant that has recently opened a couple of blocks from NJIT.

We look forward to training and breaking pad thai with you in a couple of weeks.

For further information, send inquiries to little (at) njit.edu

Shameless bump.

The original intention was to have closed registration by now, but a few spaces remain.

Registration will remain open via e-mail with payment at the door till we fill.

Best wishes for the seminar. Wish I could be there (busy getting ready for France!)
