A reintroduction of sorts
by the by... three years has flown by.
For those of you who dont remember me, howdy.
Those who do -- will remember me from such fond dicussions such as 'Kates bear hug' 'free flier miles' and ' Gee, I didn't know a wrist could point that way'. I also spent more air time then mat time at the 2003 Rocky Mountain Aiki Summet, and ne'er since have I trained with a 6'7'' partner- Randori and Koshi's Eeek!
A little background- I started training five years ago in college with Joe Crocker- great guy, arizona is lucky to have him. Stopped training August 2003 when I was side lined by pregnancy.
Fast foward to now, Married, divorce and fighting to get custody of my daughter back. My little thing for me is aikido, so.. Hi!

Re: A reintroduction of sorts
Welcome back Kaitlin! I too stopped for awhile due to having a baby (about 2.5 years total) so completely understand. It's hard to come back in a way, but it is oh so nice to be able to pick it back up again.
Take care, and welcome back again.

Re: A reintroduction of sorts
Thankyou one and all I wouldn't give up being a mom for anything, which is why I'm fighting my back stabbing ex MIL so hard to regain full custody. -sighs-
Anywho, I was wondering if anyone knows where to find a Gi strong enough for a man but fit for a woman? I'm a little more curvy then I used to be, which shocked the hell out of me when I tried my Hakama on because instead of tripping on it, it fits perfectly.Props to the skillled folks at Bu Jin.
As always

Re: A reintroduction of sorts
The Bujin women's doji top are really great for curvy women. I'm one. And they are pretty durable. Although I'd love to see a judo dogi top made for a woman. I don't know how plausible it is. (oh, and i don't mean just adding ties to the collar.)

Re: A reintroduction of sorts
Judo tops are made from thick, heavy woven fabric. They can take a pounding, and can absorb much sweat, but become heavy when wet. They can be very warm... great in a cold dojo, but miserable in a hot one. This can be complicated by the fact that most women wear a shirt underneath. I know females who swear by them, and others who swear AT them.
