Hey from the little isle of Jersey, UK

Hey everyone, i though I'd register as my Sensei mentioned this site to me and i wanted learn more about aikido.

I have been doing aikido for just over a month now so I'm still a newbie . I'm 15 and this is my first martial art so I'm having great fun.

I hope i get to talk to all off you and share my ideas.

I'm want to get really good at aikido and I'm always at my lessons on time, but i feel really new 'cos I'm the shortest as well .

speak to you soon

The pen is mightier than the sword.
But a sword
Dipped in ink,
Now,
That's a good compromise.

Hey Sam,
welcome to the club. Fun is the best way to learn, so it is great to hear that you're having it. there are some young guys and girls around, but also many elderly posters. Some threads might not be interesting to you, so you just can skip them. When I started, I read every thread, but that is very time consuming, so there is a lot I skip.

Being short is not a disadvantage in aikido. You'll find many techniques where you think, it might be easier when being some taller, but then it is up to your sensei to aplly it properly to the diffrerence in size. And most techniques are even easier when you are at least a little bit smaller than your partner.
So especially in aikido you do not have to measure your size in feet and inches (meters do not help either ), but in the flexibility of your mind.

So have a lot of fun.

Kind regards Dirk
