Aikido Hawaii Website

Posted 2005-09-09 14:19:46 by Christopher Li
News URL: http://www.aikidohawaii.org

After discussions with the previous website administrator, I've agreed to take over maintenance of the long neglected Aikido Hawaii website.

I've made a quick port of the old material (just transferring the old content as is for now) to a new server at http://www.aikidohawaii.org/ , and will be updating and modernizing the site and content over the next few months. The previous administrator, who has been generous enough to host the site for a good many years, had been planning to close it down since nobody seemed interested in maintaining it (the last update was in 1998) and is not able to maintain it himself effectively, in any case, from the mainland. There may be deadwood from the old site on the new server, if you come across something strange please let me know. Quite a lot of the information is out of date or obsolete at present, and a lot of newer information is still missing.

Since we now have the ability to update the site in a timely manner, I would greatly appreciate new material or updates for the new site. I especially want to update the dojo information section. I'm still thinking about the best format for the new directory, but please feel free to send me new (or updated) dojo information for the dojo listing section. Dojo of all styles and affiliations are welcome.

I hope that we will all be able to work together to help preserve this important historical and community resource for the Hawaii Aikido community.
