new AIKIDOKA

hi guys, i am new in aikido, and i just wanna say that i love that art, it is the best thing that happened to me in years, i train with the best sensei in EGYPT, he just arrived from JAPAN and he is really good and nice too. i hope that someday i could be a 7 dan like steven seagal [my hero], and i just wanna know: how long does it take for me to start using aikido for self defense?????
