Hi Josh, You asked if anyone "believed" in (a), "belief "and Ki don't really go together, Ki has to be felt it's not something that our sense's can really grasp, just the same as radio waves and other forms energy. Lynn's post was very clear. If you would like to feel it you must sit still and close down the enemy within (your thought generator), you can also get a feel for it when you are training but it's very hard to go deep when your moving around. Better to practice meditation or whatever method you have for this and then when you train you will feel it even more. It seems that in this forum some people have a great problem with all things mystical, I can understand as some of it is ‘off the wall', a bit like fishermen's tales of the one that got away. But never the less it is a fact that fish (and radio waves) exist. If we become like the ‘cup that is full' we stop our growth in this subject, better to say I have never experienced it, but who knows? It is a huge topic, and one which I love, because when you can go deep into it you will start to experience the Love that Osensei found and talked about all his life. You can practice Aikido and not try to find the heaven within but you will miss out on so much. An old Chinese saying comes to mind:
Look and it can't be seen.
Listen, and it can't be heard.
Reach and it can't be grasped.
Subtle, beyond all conception.
Approach it and there is no beginning;
Follow it and there is no end.
You can't know it but you can be it,
At ease in your own life.
Just realize where you come from:
This is the essence of wisdom. Malc.
If you have not linked yourself to true emptiness,
You will never understand The Art of peace.
