Sitting in the dark on battery and dialup. Listening to the food spoil. Anyone have any hurricane stories?

Hey Matt,

There were only four of us in the dojo on Thursday night: Charlie, Marshall, Gail and I. Every so often the wind would make all the windows rattle at once with a sort of spooky effect.

Not much of a story, but thought you might appreciate it.

Yours in Aiki

Looks like from the pictures on the news the
water came to about 5 blocks from the dojo. Does that sound right?

Still no power here. Good thing I like camping.

Wish I was there to participate in that 4-person class, Opher: it sounds like fun. Sorry I missed training with you more while I was there, Matt.

On my way out West (with my U-Haul truck all packed with my and my gf's possessions), we passed through Kansas City. The sky was green, and the clouds looked like cotton candy, with many little tails. I could just imagine one of those little "tails" growing and touching down...right on my U-Haul!

The locals seemed not even to notice. Just like earthquake country out here, I guess. I've felt a few, but no major shakers.

I heard about the 8.0 quake in Japan, but nothing about the damage caused. Anyone heard anything?
