What is ASKI Certified?
I'm looking into an Aikido dojo and they list the sensei as ASKI certified. I've never heard of that before. Does anyone know what that means and where I can find more information on ASKI certified?
Jimmie.

Jimmie,
I looked on Google and couldn't find anything with that name. Why not ask the dojo, or give us their website address and maybe someone can tell you that way. Where are you located?
best,
Rachel

The Aikido is being offered through a rec center in Holiday Florida and instructed by Sensei Moises Sumoza. I've not yet been able to contact anyone who knows anything, but I'll try and inquire. My main concern is that ASKI is a philosophy I don't agree with.

This was the only thing I found about this teacher:
http://www.palmharbortkd.com/akido.html
and aikiweb search engine turns up 7 other dojos in the area:
http://www.aikiweb.com/search/search.html
Sensei Sumoza's webpage just doesn't have any information about his affiliation or anything, so it doesn't help me in figuring out what ASKI stands for; but most likely not an aikido organization, maybe some other MA?
best,
Rachel

Then don't go and find another school. Simple
From your post, you appear to know what ASKI is. Care to share?

From what I'm gathering, ASKI is a Karate association. He's a 3 art black belt.

ASKI seems to be the association for Sontokan Karate, a Shotokan style.
Google search:
+ASKI martial arts
No relationship to Aikido.
