On Saturday, Sugano sensei was moved to a bigger room that has southern exposure. He is close to the window and has a nice view from the 10th floor. He started practicing with the walker to get around, just two and three days after the surgery. He received flowers when we were visiting and said that he wouldn't mind receiving cards sent to the New York Aikikai dojo. He appreciates the e-mails sent to him. We will post a thank you note from him shortly.

These last two days, Sensei was resting and enjoying the sun that comes through his windows. He appreciates this improvement very much. On Monday, we printed more than a hundred e-mails to send to his room at the hospital (66 e-mails received during the weekend, and about 42 on Monday). He is starting to plan his rehabilitation and getting ready for the next step in the process, which is preparing his leg for the prosthesis. This includes a new surgery after checking that the infection is completely gone.
