Hello! :)

Hi everyone! I have been reading these forums for months now, but my computer wouldn't let me register until recently. I recognize a lot of you from Aikido-l, but those of you whom I don't know....hello and nice to meet you.

My name's Karen, I'm from the Hudson Valley in New York State. I started Aikido in October, so I'm still rank-less. At least til spring when I guess I will test for 5th kyu, gulp!

I attend Kingston Aikido (www.kingstonaikido.com)....a great dojo with very patient, kind, and helpful Aikidoka. I so look forward to going to class that when it snowed all day last Thursday, I was MOST unhappy that I couldn't train that night! I think I'm just a little obsessed with Aikido.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and taking part in discussions!

Karen

Hello Karen,

Welcome! I new here too. Good luck with the snow (I know about that stuff being from Wisconsin) and your aikido.

I like the quote!

Hi Karen.

My name's Kevin and I practice at the Woodstock dojo.

I'm also new to the forum and pretty new to Aikido. I would really like to come practice in Kingston sometime soon.

Were you at the inter-dojo holiday party last December?

Maybe we'll test together for 5th Kyu since I started going full time in October also. Are many people from Kingston coming to test on Saturday?

Nice to meet you!

Kevin

Hi Kevin! Yes, I was at the dojo holiday party, were you? I got majorly lost on the way home, though, LOL! Ended up in Wawarsing or something.....and I live in Poughkeepsie. Not good.

I am not sure if anyone from Kingston is testing Saturday. Sensei mentioned it at class last night, but didn't say whether any of us Kingston folks would be testing. So I assume not? I'll ask him or Marilyn next class.

Yeah, I bet we will test together, cool! I'm up to about 45 classes so far, so I assume I'll be testing in March or April.

I haven't been to the Woodstock dojo yet....I'm a little intimidated, I think! I'm used to my own little dojo, know everyone, they all know me, they know how badly I do Aikido, etc.... But someday I'll get the guts to take a class up there, maybe Marilyn's Friday class. She is so great! Have you taken her class?

You should definitely come down to Kingston sometime. It's a great dojo, full of really great people. And Bob is an excellent teacher.

Looking forward to meeting you someday!

Karen
