Two New Instructional DVD Titles

Two New Instructional DVD Titles from George Ledyard available now!

Aiki and Connection
This two disc set offers a body centered, principle based "how to" explanation of the essential elements of performing technique with "Aiki" rather than mere muscular force. For the student of Aikido who aspires to attain the kind of effortless, relaxed, yet powerful technique exhibited by teachers such as the late Yamaguchi Seigo, Mitsugi Saotome, Hiroshi Ikeda, or Endo Seishiro this newly released 2 disc set is a good place to start. After working through this material, a student attending a seminar with any of these great teachers will be far better able to benefit from the experience and take his or her Aikido to a higher level. This is an instructional set on the principles that are contained in all Aikido techniques and is not specific to any particular style.

Principles of Kaeshiwaza (Reversals)
Kaeshiwaza or Reversals is the application of Aiki principles on the part of the uke in Aikido practice. This two DVD set offers a delineation of the principles that govern the ability to reverse a technique instantly if ones partner leaves an opening. This set presupposes a familiarity with the material in the Principles of Aiki three title set and / or in our newest Aiki and Connection double DVD set. It is not a basic technique video but rather is intended for the advanced practitioner who already has a firm foundation in Kihon Waza (basic technique) and wishes to take the study of "connection" deeper by learning to apply the same principles which nage uses for executing effortless technique in his or her role as the uke. Kaeshiwaza is the ultimate expression of proper ukemi in that it requires continuous connection with the partner and a relaxed but energized sensitivity that allows one to reverse a technique in the instant ones partner leaves the slightest opening. This set covers the "how to" behind the reversal it is not an attempt to make an exhaustive study of the many reversals that exist in Aikido technique. A later DVD will be forthcoming covering the basic kihon waza of Aikido and a set of possible reversals for each one. This two disc set covers the principles that make all reversals possible.

Ledyard Sensei,

I just tried to order the Connections set and am having trouble with the check out. I keep getting the message that my "Session Has Timed Out". How do I connect?

There seems to be a technical issue with the store right now. If anyone has a problem, just send the proper amount directly from PayPal to sales@aikieast.com. Make sure you note down the shipping address and the titles you want and I'll ship them right out.

As near as I can tell, things are working properly now. I am getting orders from allover and they seem to be processing just fine. If anyone tries to order and has an issue, please tell me. you can e-mail me at sales@aikieast.com. Thanks everyone and especially to all the folks who have ordered so far. The response has been very gratifying!
