Gory Gi
Lol - sorry about the title. Anyone know how to get blood out of a gi? I've been trying all weekend.
(See, we were practicing with knives, and well, one slipped...
Lol - j/k. Cut my arm at work and it broke open practicing ukemi at home.)
Anyway, hope someone knows; I'd hate to have to buy another one on account of a few ugly spots.

Re: Gory Gi
Dave Dave - don't you reallize a little blood on the Gi is the ultimate in chic.
Regular washing and it will eventually fade and then (if you are really chic) you'll have to cut yourself shaving or something.
Question - you change into your gi at home for ukemi practice? Personally I would not change and do it in regular cloths. With some people (never happened to me of course ) things that go well in the dojo fall apart outside. Something like how good I sing in the shower as opposed to in public.

Well, it may be too late if you've already washed it, but there's a few things I've found works on blood:
rinse in COLD water to avoid setting the stain. Use a pre-wash stain remover, like Shout, Zout, or something along those lines. Wash with cold water (and if you like bleach, use it).
If you've already washed it in hot, or dried it in the dryer, it may not come out very easily, but you could try anyway.
Hydrogen peroxide does a good job getting it out of lab coats, but may be hard on a gi.

I though that was only true if the blood in question wasn't yours?
I'm so confused,

Hah!! Whose to tell.
The "wounded warrior" is the mark of chic. Being covered in other's blood is only sign of a brute.

Have you seen those infomercials? There is one product that works on just about anything. OXICLEAN Dampen the spot, take some Oxi, make a paste and work in pretty well. then throw it in a COLD wash. If that doesent work soak it overnight in a plastic bucket with some Oxi (don't forget the water). The soak method worked on my wife's white pants & blouse last summer when my son cracked his head open on the subwoofer. Blood everywhere. Oxiclean soak and bingo! Clean as a whistle.

There is no comparing - I've got two kids and the cost of diapers alone up till now could have bought me a VERY nice subwoofer

Yes! Oxiclean works. It can be used in colors also.
My son took three stiches right between the eyes but he's fine now. That was last summer and we know he's acquired a few more bumps and bruises since then.
For the audiophiles out the the subwoofer is ok.
Question? Does everyone hang their Gi on the line to dry? I've always put mine & daughter's in the dryer. The sleves shrunk a tinch but otherwise I've suffered no problems.
