Re: Being the Demo Uke

Being a good uke is important - not to be used as a zombie demo uke, but to learn to respond quickly to technique so that later you can learn to 1: escape/slip; 2 counter effortlessly. If you have that aim you will truly learn.

Sometimes - what I call the zombie uke 'falls for his teacher' and in more ways than one. They can have too much respect - it can go negative (like worship) - and it can also affect their own ego. Seen too many times ... it can hamper true learning. I have been guilty of that at times ... probably many have.
