Shinjido instructionals: judo and aikido

I just wanted to make mention of the new Shinjido videos by Danny Dacosta. Mr Dacosta is likely well known to those from England, being a 6th Dan in Aikido and 6th Dan in Judo. Judoka may also recognize him as a European and British Open medalist.

I viewed both Shinjido sets and really enjoyed them, and I'm not getting paid to say that. Anyone interested in seeing the marriage of aikido and judo should take a gander at Danny's work. At under 10 pounds, it's definitely an affordable option.

Yes, I just caught word of that on judoforum. I had always hoped to meet him one day and attend a shinjido course.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Danny had been ill for quite a while as I understand it; rest in peace

Re: Shinjido instructionals: judo and aikido

I have received several messages of the passing of Danny Dacosta - Danny was highly respected in both Judo and Aikido. Danny was a guest at our memorial event to "Masahilo Nakazono Sensei " back in 2007.
Dang Phong Sensei was also a guest instructor, Danny was delighted to meet someone smaller than himself which kept him amused - he had a great sense of humour as can be seen from some of his YT videos.
R.I.P. Danny

Rest in peace Danny. A great Judoka, Aikidoka and always with a sense of humor.
