I would just like to say this is a great opportunity for a very rare experience. I doubt it's possible to experience anything quite like it anywhere. The community at Tsubaki America is great and I really cannot say enough nice things about the people there. I spend very little time there these days, but I consider them to be extended family members.
The breadth and depth of knowledge (in Aikido as well as other things) contained in the wonderful people there is simply outstanding. If I didn't have my family needs I would be the first to apply.

Re: Tsubaki America Uchi Deshi Opportunity

AIKIDO/ SHINTO / PERMACULTURE

An interesting note is that Tsubaki Jinja is considering to add 2 Aiki Uchi deshii --- they would each of course be involved in all Kannagara Aiki training at Tsubaki Jinja and have private rooms at Tsubaki Kaikan (guest house) they would each work at Tsubaki Jinja 3 or 4 days each week doing landscaping, cleaning and assisting in various aspects of operation of the Jinja--in addition there would be the situation of working 1 or 2 days each week with Mr. Russell Jacobson who is a senior Aikidoka at Kannagara Aikido but also the head of Urban Earth Gardens and the expert of permaculture, beekeeping etc. So in addition to Aiki training and becoming the expert in the Gyo (true Shinto meditation and purification practices) there is the option to be the permaculture apprentice during the same period.

if you have interest please contact Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America, the US Branch of one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious Shinto Shrines and the Main Shrine of Aikido's ancestor Kami.
