Aikido and Small Circle Jujitsu

I was wondering if anyone has trained in both, and if they think that these arts may compliment eachother?

Re: Aikido and Small Circle Jujitsu

I love Wally J.

IMHO, small-circle works well with Aikido.

Re: Aikido and Small Circle Jujitsu

I went to a seminar Wally held back when I was living in the Bay Area in the early 90's. Had a lot of fun and I remember then thinking then it was an interesting take on getting someone's balance through putting them in a bad position.

Re: Aikido and Small Circle Jujitsu

My first Aikido sensei went off and did some seminars with Wally and when he came back, put us through a world of pain :-)

Great stuff, fits very well with Aikido, but it's all jujitsu. What's interesting is to try to put the "do" back into it.

Re: Aikido and Small Circle Jujitsu

I enjoyed the small circle JJ view point very much after attending a seminar a few years back with Wally Jay Sensei. His ten? principles resonated very well with some aiki principles.
I heard that he passed away recently i think his son Leon carries on the school with an intrest in Kyusho added as well
