Smile My Introduction

Hello Everyone,

I just recently started studying the art of aikido. So far i have went to two classes and from what i have seen so far this is something that i will enjoy. I was lucky enough to come across a great bunch of people in my town Montgomery, Alabama. Where i will be studying aikido is at Capital City Aikido ran by Ron Myers Sensei and Greg Jennings. Both of these guys are really nice people. Im greatful for being given the chance to study under them.

I have been told by many of people that aikido is something you dont learn quick and that it takes over a year to get even remotely good at it. If this is true that is fine with me because i have a lifetime to be the best i can be.

One day i hope to be a shihan, it will take time but with teachers such as the ones i have. It can be done.

Hi, Chris, and welcome

The group you are with sound like a lot of fun, and with your positive attitude I'll bet you make great progress...

I may print your intro out and save it, so when you are a famous shihan someday I can track you down at a seminar and show it to you

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the AikiWeb Forums and thank you for your introduction! I've had the opportunity to train with both Ron and Greg -- you're with a good group of folks there.

thank you

Thank you both for the welcome,

I dont know about being a famous shihan but i know some day with alot of dedication it can be done. My goals are set and now its time to feed my brain with the knowlege to reach them. Myers Sensei and Greg seem like very good men and look forward to feeding off their knowlege for as long as they are willing to let me. "hopefully for a long long time" =)

Welcome, Chris.

I'll echo the others by saying you are with a good group.

I just wanted to let you know that I've been practicing a bit longer than a year (all together now a bit over 48 years) and I'm still trying to "get good" at it. Even remotely good is okay with me! Just don't quit and stay with good teachers and you'll learn as you go along.

The journey is what's important, not the end destination.
